Alain Chivilò: “i am a professional art critic and curator. I am journalist”. Born in Venice on 1969, he started the art formation according to a post-impressionistic figurative expression created by a group of modern artist, working in Italy before and after II world war. Now, his research is focused on contemporary art. Alain is an Italian contemporary art curator, critic and writer based in Venice and Milan. In the Serenissima city, Venice, he is probably the “last” artistic director to defender a Nineteen century masters group characterized by nature, landascapes, still life and portraits (Marco Novati, Eugenio Da Venezia, Neno Mori, Carlo Dalla Zorza, Fioravante Seibezzi, Cosimo Privato, Mario Varagnolo for example). In this context the art monographs “Marco Novati Volti Vissuti” and “Gigi Candiani Atmosfere Rarefatte” triggered a debate about the importance of these figurative artists in the modern Italian art history. He studied art history and business administration at university, but he doesn’t like to write these qualifications with the dr abbreviation or similar (doctor, phd, dottore, ext). After the project “Quod erat demonstrandum”, where for few months during 2015 and ’16, he highlighted the society disinformation and envy, but above all the desire to discredit without going back to the source, he is against all those forms often planned in the artistic world even for free to defame. He is and he will be proactive towards a philosophy based on synergistic creation and ideation. As free lance journalist, accredited in Italian register, he is writing for the most important magazines. During his career he interviewed the most important international artists as for example Sir Anthony Caro, Marc Quinn, Shozo Shimamoto, Hermann Nitsch, Jacques Villeglé, Fabrizio Plessi, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Riccardo Licata, Eugenio Carmi, Rabarama, Achille Perilli, Luca Alinari, Alberto Biasi, Xu Deqi, Helidon Xhixha. On 2017, a selection of all these art contacts, that involved him, have been published in a new book: “Tracce Segni Macchie Bruciature Concetti Scatti Tagli Buchi”. Collaborations have been fundamental to in connection to important Italian critics, known in the media. He plans basically solo exhibitions in several world locations. His motto: always to consider and place the artists linked to the personal artistic creations first, through a rich simplicity.
